Bridal designs

I have looked at Vera Wang to see what is available on the bridal market at the moment, as i want to focus my collection on bridal /evening wear. Although i do not want to design a classic bridal collection.

Context essay

I feel like I have been neglecting my essay slightly because the other two projects have to be in first so I am going to try and carry on with some more research this week, I don't think we are going to be having a lesson as Janets still poorly.

Final collection work

The deadline is 2 weeks away now, I have got everything on my blog that is required just bits to add to my sketchbook and I want to carry on practising with illustrator. Just need to carry on with my research, I have also finished my proposal.

RSA work

The deadline for RSA is one week away, was quite panicked this morning about it all, put feeling okay now. Spoke to Ann earlier and showed her my boards and she liked them have just made slight changes. Need to get boards blown up to A3 now and add crystals. My gown is finished I just have bits to finish off now so will be hopefully be finished for Monday!

Crystals

I have managed to source some Swarovski crystals that are slightly cheaper from China, as i will be using lots of them on my embellishments for my final collection.This colour will be my main colour use.

Crystal Butterflies-RSA

Image of my gown with crystal butterflies- which i have been beading since wednesday, i have only done a scattering of crystals because of time and money.

Context

Janets poorly so theres no lesson tomorrow so i am going to carry on with my research and putting my sections together.

Research and Inspiration

Have done mood boards for trend predictions this week and posted videos onto my blog of designers that have influenced me and catwalk shows I like. Have also had a go at illustrator but I am not very good at it up to yet, need to keep practising! There's just not enough time in the day.
Also have made toiles for the patterns I did in last weeks lesson just need to take photos of.

RSA

I am still waiting for my crystals so that i can finish my gown they are taken ages to come, just hope they come in the morning because it is going to take me ages to bead my gown.
Have done developments on my drawings just need to finish my boards with embellishment pictures, once done.

Pattern lesson

In lesson last night i finished 2 skirt patterns i had been working on previously and cut them out in fabric to make up, i also made a v neck dress pattern and cut this out i will toile these next week to see how they look. This is all work towards my final collection.

Inspiration

Context

Had a tutorial with Janet today on my essay, Janet gave me lots of information to look at and we added some more parts to my sections. I have still got lots more to do on this, quite worried about time scale it is so hard juggling all 3 projects, feel i have spent so long on RSA project have neglected others a bit. Need to do some more research and carry on putting my sections together.

RSA gown

Photos of my final RSA gown, I am really pleased with the outcome I just need to sew on my butterfly crystal embellishments when my crystals arrive.

Updated Mood board

This is an updated mood board for my final collection, showing the area i want to develop, the soft colouring i want to use for collection and semi- precious detailing.

RSA

I had a tutorial with Ann today, on RSA- didnt actually realise I have to create the embellishments onto my garment, I am using swarovski crystals- all over crystals using large butterfly images so this would take too long to do and be so expensive. So I am going to do the outline and see if have any time left after that to do a scattering of crystals to show the effect. Brought some more crystals at £100 this project is proving really expensive!
Have been creating board developments on photoshop this afternoon, I have also cut out my gown and am going to make it this week.
Hope everything is going to be done in time, feel as I am neglecting my other projects a bit.

Initial toile- RSA

In pattern lesson this week i finished my initial toile for RSA, I had to take off alot on the seams as it turned out really big, was not the look I wanted as it swamped the size 12 model! So now it will hopefully turn out like I want, I am going to cut out the gown in my fabric on mondays lesson, and hopefully make in the week. As not long is left now till the deadline.

Initial designs

I have been creating initial designs for my collection this week looking at shape, colour and embellishments. I need to do further work on photoshop with these designs, to experiment with colour and various embellishments created.

Fabrics for collection

Fabric samples I have ordered, they reflect my colour palette of soft muted colours, fabrics are Silk Taffetta, Silk Organza and Silk Georgette.

RSA

I have been creating further designs on photoshop with my fabrics and embellishments, I need to start to put together my boards and make my final garment.I have been doing further developments on how to put the embellishments created onto my garments.

Context

I have started to put all of my research together in a file as Janet suggested. I have also started to write parts of my essay in little sections, I feel it will be a lot easier this way.

Patterns

I couldnt get to this weeks lesson because I travel and came in wednesday night for information exchange. So I have been doing pattern work at home, nearly finished my initial toile for RSA, and cut out and started an A-line skirt for final collection work.

Self-directed study

We've not had a lesson this week with claudia, so i have been doing sketchbook work. Have been researching further into pattern ideas trying to narrow my ideas down. I am going to experiment with more samples influenced from images found.
